California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) Notice

The supplemental information contained in this section of Meissner’s Privacy Policy complements our overarching Privacy Policy, including our General Data Protection Policy Regulation (GDPR) Privacy Policy Addendum.
This privacy notice affects all visitors, users and residents (“consumers” or “you”) of the State of California. Your privacy is important to Meissner, and this notice demonstrates our compliance with the CCPA of 2018 and explains your rights as defined within it. Terms defined with the CCPA have the same meaning in this notice.
Information Meissner Collects
Meissner collects information that identifies, relates to, references, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked to, directly or indirectly, a particular consumer or device (“personal information” or PI). Specifically, Meissner collects, or has collected, the following California-defined categories of personal information within the last twelve months.

Use of Personal Information
We may use or disclose the personal information we collect for one or more of the following business purposes:
- To fulfill or meet the reason you provided us with the information. (For example, if you share your name and contact information to request a quote or ask a question about our products or services, we will use that personal information to respond to your inquiry.)
- To process and fulfill orders and payments, including account creation and maintenance, and tracking of your order(s).
- To provide customer support, including responding to your inquiries and application requirements.
- To keep you informed of new products, company updates, and our participation in industry events through vehicles, such as email, newsletters, invitations, and other marketing communication.
- To analyze data, including the evaluation of our marketing and sales efforts through programs such as lead and contact generation, and brand and campaign awareness.
- To provide, support, personalize, and develop our websites, products and services.
- To consider your application for employment within our organization, and/or to comply with laws and regulations once you are employed by our organization.
- To meet a purpose described to you when collecting your personal information.
Meissner will not collect additional categories of personal information or use the personal information we collected for a materially different, unrelated, or purpose incompatible with the CCPA without providing you notice.
Meissner Does Not Sell Your Personal Information
Meissner has not sold personal information in the preceding twelve months, and will not sell personal information at any time in the future.
How Meissner Shares Your Personal Information
In the preceding twelve months, Meissner may have disclosed your personal information for a business purpose to companies who work on behalf of Meissner, including other related Meissner entities, and third party service providers, in order to provide a product or service to you.
- We may share personal information within Meissner, or with other Meissner entities world-wide, for the purposes outlined within this policy.
- We may share personal information with service providers who are acting under agreement with Meissner, or as an agent of Meissner, to provide services on our behalf, such as payment processing, data analytics, hosting and maintenance of our databases, and client support and service. Meissner ensures that these service providers are contractually obligated to protect the information shared with them to carry out their service, and they are restricted from disclosing the data except as necessary to perform the services for which they are under contract.
- We may disclose personal information if we are required to do so by law or legal obligation (e.g. a court order or subpoena).
Your Rights and Ability to Exercise Them
The CCPA provides California residents with specific rights regarding their personal information. This section describes your rights as outlined with the CCPA, and explains how to exercise those rights.
- The Right to Know/The Right to Access Your Personal Information.
You have the right to request and obtain from Meissner the type of personal information we have collected, used and shared about you, in the past 12 months, and why we collected, used and shared that information. You have the right to make this request twice within a 12-month period. Once we receive your verifiable request, we will disclose to you:- The categories of personal information Meissner collected
- The specific pieces of personal information Meissner collected
- The categories of sources from which Meissner collected personal information
- The purposes for which Meissner uses personal information
- The categories of third parties with whom Meissner shares the personal information
- The categories of information that Meissner sells or discloses to third parties.
- The Right to Delete.
You also have the right to request the deletion of your personal information that has been collected and retained in the past 12 months, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive your verifiable request, we will delete your personal information from our files. We will also direct our third party service providers to delete your personal information.In certain situations, Meissner may deny your deletion request for one of the following reasons:- We are unable to verify your request (as required by the CCPA).
- We need your personal information to complete your transaction, provide a reasonably anticipated product or service, or for certain warranty and product recall purposes.
- We need your personal information for certain business security practices.
- We need your personal information for certain internal uses that are compatible with reasonable consumer expectations or the context in which the information was originally provided.
- We need your personal information to comply with legal obligation, exercise legal claims or rights, or defend legal claims.
- If the personal information is certain medical information, consumer credit reporting information, or other types of information exempt from the CCPA.
- The Right to Opt-Out of Sale
Meissner does not sell your personal information; therefore, we do not offer an opt out. - The Right to Not Be Discriminated Against.(Non-Discrimination)
Meissner will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA defined rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:- Deny you goods or services.
- Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
- Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
- Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
Exercising Your Rights by Submitting a Request
To exercise your right to know, access, and delete your personal information, please submit a verifiable request to us as follows:

We will respond to your request within 45 calendar days of its receipt. If we need to extend this response time frame, by up to an additional 45 days, we will provide you with notice. Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child.
You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request must:
- Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative.
- Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.
Verification of Your Identity
Meissner cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information unless we can verify your identity, per CCPA guidelines. We may need to ask you for additional information for verification purposes exclusively.
Other California Privacy Rights
California’s Shine the Light law
Under California Civil Code Section 1798 (California’s Shine the Light law), California residents with an established business relationship with us can request information once a year about sharing their personal information with third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. If you’d like to request more information under the California Shine the Light law, you can contact us by using the “Contact Information” provided below.
“Do Not Track” Disclosure as Required by California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)
Meissner does not track its customers over time and across third party websites to provide advertising, and therefore, does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. However, some third party websites do keep track of your browsing activities. If you are visiting such websites, you can set your preferences in your web browser to inform websites that you do not want to be tracked. You can enable or disable DNT by visiting the preferences or settings page of your web browser.
Changes to our Privacy Policy
Meissner reserves the right to amend this privacy policy at our discretion and at any time. When we make changes to this privacy policy, we will post the updated notice on the website and update the policy’s effective date. Your continued use of our website following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
