Frequently Asked Questions

What is DeltaMax® Polypropylene Depth?

DeltaMax® Polypropylene Depth is an absolute-rated polypropylene depth filter designed for clarification, polishing, bioburden reduction, and prefiltration. It features a unique spiral construction creating a gradient pore structure that maximizes service life and flow rates. The filter is chemically inert, free of binders, lubricants, adhesives, and additives, and is available in multiple absolute pore sizes from 0.5 to 70 microns.

What applications is DeltaMax® Polypropylene Depth used for?

DeltaMax® Polypropylene Depth filters are used in pharmaceutical and biological product and process liquids, cosmetics and personal care liquids, microelectronic chemicals, solvents, ultrapure water (UPW), CMP slurries, beverages such as wine, beer, mineral water, soft drinks, water purification systems, and chemical processing. They are ideal for clarification, polishing, bioburden reduction, and prefiltration.

What specifications or sizes are available for DeltaMax® Polypropylene Depth?

DeltaMax® filters have absolute pore sizes of 0.5, 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, 40, and 70 microns. Cartridge diameters are 2.5″ (DMN) and 2.75″ (DMG). Nominal cartridge lengths include 10″, 20″, 30″, and 40″ (25, 50, 75, 100 cm). They support multiple end cap configurations and O-ring materials such as Buna, EPR, silicone, Teflon® over silicone, and Viton®.

What makes DeltaMax® Polypropylene Depth unique?

DeltaMax® filters feature a unique spiral construction that creates a gradient pore structure, enhancing flow rates and maximizing service life. They have high dirt-holding capacity, resist contaminant unloading at high differential pressures, and withstand multiple steam-in-place (SIP), hot water sanitization, and chemical cleaning cycles. The filters are constructed from chemically inert polypropylene without surfactants, lubricants, binders, or adhesives.

Is DeltaMax® Polypropylene Depth suitable for regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing?

Yes, DeltaMax® cartridges meet FDA food contact regulations per CFR Title 21,177 and comply with USP Class VI plastics tests. They are manufactured under cGMP conditions, are non-fiber releasing as defined in 21 CFR 210.3(b)(6), and comply with European Commission Directive 2002/72/EC and subsequent amendments. This makes them suitable for regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing applications.

What other products are commonly used with DeltaMax® Polypropylene Depth?

Common complementary products used with DeltaMax® Polypropylene Depth filters include Single-Use Systems, M-Flex® TPE Tubing, M-Sil™ Braid Reinforced Silicone Tubing, BioLink® Modular Overmolding Technology, and SGT (Single-Use Gauge Tee).
