This technologically advanced polyethersulfone (PES) membrane filter’s highly tapered, thicker pore structure provides built-in prefiltration for high contaminant capacity, extended service life, and high flow rates.

EverLUX® polyethersulfone (PES) filters are optimized for sterile filtration, prefiltration, and clarification applications where exceptional capacity, low protein binding, and absolute bacteria retention are required. This absolute-rated PES membrane filter is permanently hydrophilic. The EverLUX® membrane’s tapered pore structure provides built-in prefiltration, allowing it to withstand higher particle loads without compromising flow rates. This extended capacity and service life can be directly translated into lower filtration costs. The EverLUX® filter also is available in discs, capsules, high-capacity UltraCap®, and UltraCap® H.D. capsules.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is EverLUX® PES Membrane (Hydrophilic)?

EverLUX® PES Membrane (Hydrophilic) is a polyethersulfone (PES) filter membrane designed for high contaminant capacity, extended service life, and high flow rates with low pressure drop. It is permanently hydrophilic, chemically compatible across pH 1-14, and optimized for sterile filtration, prefiltration, and clarification of biological fluids. The membrane features a unique, highly asymmetric structure that enhances contaminant capacity and maintains sterilizing properties.

What applications is EverLUX® PES Membrane (Hydrophilic) used for?

EverLUX® PES Membrane is suitable for a wide range of biological fluids including blood products, complex biologicals, serum, cell and tissue culture media, process intermediates, supernatants, vaccines, ophthalmics, and buffers. It is optimized for sterile filtration, prefiltration, and clarification applications, especially where high contaminant loads and protein-containing solutions are involved.

What specifications or sizes are available for EverLUX® PES Membrane (Hydrophilic)?

EverLUX® PES Membrane cartridges are available in absolute pore ratings of 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6 µmºm across different grades (SMH, STW, SLH, SLW, SPH, STS). Cartridge lengths include 10″, 20″, 30″, and 40″ (25 cm, 50 cm, 75 cm, 100 cm) with a nominal diameter of 2.75″ (7 cm). Various end cap configurations and seal materials such as Buna, EPR, silicone, Teflon® over silicone, and Viton® are offered to suit different system requirements.

What makes EverLUX® PES Membrane (Hydrophilic) unique?

EverLUX® PES Membrane features a patented, highly asymmetric PES membrane structure that delivers up to 2.5 times higher flow rates than other PES membranes. Its increased membrane thickness and tapered pore structure provide exceptional contaminant capacity and extended service life while maintaining absolute bacteria retention. The membrane is permanently hydrophilic, contains no binders or adhesives, and offers low protein binding with high transmission of proteins and active ingredients.

Is EverLUX® PES Membrane (Hydrophilic) suitable for regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing?

Yes, EverLUX® PES Membrane is suitable for regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing. It meets FDA requirements for food contact per 21 CFR 177, complies with European Commission Regulation No. 10/2011, and passes USP Class VI Plastics biological reactivity tests. The filters are manufactured under cGMP conditions, are 100% integrity tested, and have bacterial endotoxin levels below 0.5 EU/mL as determined by LAL testing.

What other products are commonly used with EverLUX® PES Membrane (Hydrophilic)?

Commonly used complementary products include Single-Use Systems, M-Flex® TPE Tubing, M-Sil™ Braid Reinforced Silicone Tubing, BioLink® Modular Overmolding Technology, and SGT (Single-Use Gauge Tee). These products support upstream and downstream bioprocess workflows integrating with EverLUX® filters.
